Uplyme

Anyone who started at RGS during the 40s and 50s will remember their first classroom in this wooden hut at Uplyme, a short distance from the main school.

The first two photos (taken in April 2004 by Dave Bedwell) show the main hut.
Entering the front door I seem to remember three classroom on the right, 2C, 2B, 2A whilst on the left there were the toilets, then 3X, 3A, 3S. There was a (seeming large at the time) assembly hall in the centre.
The third photo shows a brick building in which was housed the Music Room.

These photos were copied from the rgeboys website  which Dave Bedwell used to host and he has kindly given permission for their use here.

There is a dicussion topic on the RGS Forum which records some memories supplied from various boys and I recommend you to read it and contribute.
